Ilya Ivanov Gotchev, Violin/Viola
Born in Sofia, Bulgaria and graduated with honors from the National Music School in 2000. Ilya obtained his Bachelor Degree from the Universidad Veracruzana, Mexico, in 2009 and his Master’s degree from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, Belgium in 2012 with Magna Cum Laude. He isa member of the Xalapa Symphony and since 2014 is a violin professor
at the Universidad Veracruzana. He has played throughout Europe and Mexico, as well as Australia, Guatemala, Brazil, Canada, Costa Rica and the USA. First prize winner of the Concurso Nacional de Violin 2004 in Xalapa, Mexico, he participated in the YouTube Symphony Orchestra in 2011 under Michael Tilson Thomas and is a founding member of the CHROMA Quartet

Félix Alanís Barradas, Violin/Viola
Felix Alanis obtained his DMA from the University of Houston. He also has two Master’s degrees in Pedadogy and Violin Perfomance from the Texas Tech University. Felix has performed as solosit with many orchestras and has been part of festivals such as Kent Blossom, the Quartet Program, Youth Orchestra of the America’s, Campos do Jordao and more. He has taught at international festivals in Honduras, Colombia, Mexico and South Korea. He holds a third prize from the National Violin Competition in
2010 in Mexico and a first prize from the Concurso Nacional de Musica de Camara 2016 in Naolinco, Mexico with the CHROMA Quartet. Dr. Alanis is an assistant concertmaster of the Xalapa Symphony, founding member of the CHROMA Quartet and a violin professor at the Instituto Superior de Musica in Xalapa, Mexico.

Carlos Quijano Vásquez, Violin
Carlos Quijano was born in Xalapa, Mexico. He begun his violin studies under Mikhail Medvid and obtained his Bachelor degree from the Universidad Veracruzana under Carlos Marrufo and Ryszard Zerynger. His chamber music teacher was Jose Arias. He has attended masterclasses with the Escher, American and Leipzig Quartets as well as with the DeCoda Ensamble. As a member of CHROMA he is a winner of the ‘’M.M.Ponce’’ prize and the first prize at the Concurso Nacional de Musica de Camara ‘’Mateo Oliva’’. Currently, Carlos is the youngest violinist of the Xalapa Symphony.

Manuel Cruz Morales, Cello
Born in the city of Veracruz and obtained his Bachelor degree in 2009 from the University of Veracruz and his Masters degree in Pedadogy in 2016. Manuel has attended masterclasses with Apolonio Arias, David Schepps, Javier and Gabriel Arias, as well as summer courses with Marcio Carneiro and Jean-Michelle Fonteneau in Morges, Switzerland. Manuel was a member of the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Veracruz from 2008 until 2012. He has also been part from the Youth Orchestra of the Americas in 2011. Currently, Manuel is a cello professor at the Universidad Veracruzana and principal cello at the Orquesta de Musica Popular of the Universidad Veracruzana.
